Texts Read
Grading:
--Daily work will consist of a variety of types of work: vocabulary, grammar/practice work, researching, personal reading, draft writing, projects, group projects, etc. Quizzes, unit tests, and a comprehensive semester final will also be given.
--You are required to do some personal reading: four books throughout the course of the year. These will all be books you choose, but they must be approved by me. Each quarter, there will be a grade entered for a project you will complete about each book. There are four project options; a different one each quarter needs to be completed to earn the grade.
--Extra credit is earned through using the re-do/re-take options.
Late Work:
--Late work will be deducted 10% per day that it is turned in late. All regular daily work needs to be complete and turned in before a student will be allowed to retake a quiz or test. Note: work is expected to be turned in the day you return from an excused absence for sports or any other school activity. I will not prompt you for your assignments upon your return; it’s your job to remember to give them to me! If you are going to be gone on a certain day for a school related activity that happens to be a day a major paper is due, get it to me before you leave! Send it to class with a friend you trust, leave it in the office for me, email it to me, etc.
